Why I want to use this

Being connected to facebook or use the moblie in classroom should be allowed while be part of the learning proces. By using socialmedia tools, we are in a controlled and virtual proximity, but above all, we become part of the youngster´s reality. So they become more interested and they have more acces to the conntent and resources. Teachers and youth workers should apropiate this tools. It means, to tranform the bad uses into good ones. This proces needs creativity and an open mind aproach.

Subjects

What is it ?

What can I do with it ?

Uses:

There are many uses and aplications. We are going to develope some examples. One example has to do with the identity construction.

Me, myself and my Avatar

Summary

We are going to explore how young people can play with different identities. This activity have different parts. The first one is to explore how they build different characters as their own avatars as a form to explore their identity. After building avatars at different games we can explore how they can do a self protrait with their mobiles and image processing software. The aim is that they can become aware of the use of their own image on the Internet when they become part of the different social networks. So they are capable of being self-conciesnous on the construction of their identiy through the self-protrait.

ScratchTV

Summary

If we mix a media literacy aproach with a computacional thinking one, we'll be able to provide a framework where story telling and game become an hybrid. This hybrid is first an idea on the teens mind thso they can desing it with graphical software and then programe it with scratch. When they have finished their creation they become protagonist of a realtime streaming program where they can present their "interactive opera prima" on their own streaming Channel.
