WHAT IS IT?

we'll propose to our group of particpants to define a SITUATION. To use the words of the Internationale Situationnisteas a situation is "a moment of life concretely and deliberately constructed by the collective organization of a unitary ambiance and a game of events." This situation is goin to be a recorded walk on the city.

WHY TO DO IT?

The pourpose of the Video-walk is to produce a serie of "Détournements" using a simple camera. So it means that we want to change the meaning of some of the things that we see every day on our cities as another consumerism form of spectacle.

• The important is that we are not going to a specific place but we do know what we are looking for so while we walk through our city we can change and shape the vision we have of things.
• So participant vision has to be awake, critic, or even ironic but It has to be active. We ask them to wacht and think using the camera that is the tool that is going to record our vision.

HOW CAN WE DO IT?

First step: Brainstorm and debate

We sit down and talk about our city and after the group has speak about one issue, participants can choose what is what they are going to look for on the city. They can choose many different things. For example, one participant can start searching consumerism messages. then during the walk the participant will have to record messages and advertisements that ask us to consume and record them. But another participant can do the same but looking on all the different forms in which people waste things.

• The power of this activity is that we can ask and discuss with the group of participants about things we care. So we can share our pre-visions of things that the group consider important.

Second step: Start walking and press rec mode

• So everybody needs to take a camera, and start walking to become an image hunter.
• At this point the participant can record or not what is thinking during the video-walk

Third step: Project your vision

• We project the images and the one who has walk explains to the rest what he was thinking while recording and while the participant speaks the voice over of the video is recorded.

Four step: shape and share

• Participant will choose some music. The songs copy right have to allow us to use it in our video so we can share it. In ordre to search music that is part of the commons. For example they can search music on http://www.jamendo.com/es/

Import images and sound

• 1. Import images, sounds
  2. Edit as you please
  3. Export it to a web format
  4. Share it
